Sandtiger Shark
Habitat: coastal waters, offshore reefs, and underwater caves (depth: 50-82 feet)
Location: Atlantic, Meditterean, and Indo-west Pacific
Size: range between 7-14 feet long
Description: Sandtigers are very social and can been seen in schools of 20-28 sharks. Some migrate to cooler water during the summer months. These sharks are recognized for their long mouth extending past the eyes with long slender teeth.
Diet: bony fish and invertebrates
Feeding Habits: strong swimmer, nocturnal
Offspring: 1-2 pups per litter every other year
Lifespan: 16-35 years
